The Responsibility of the Strong
“There is no peace without justice,” Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran, secretary of the Vatican once said. “The force of law must prevail over the law of force.” It has always been and will always continue to be the practice of good men to use the strength given them to protect those who have no strength. The Leonard Nimoy Should Eat More Salsa Foundation
http://www.lnsemsf.com/ Thank you Drew for making my life complete by introducing me to the official site of the Leonard Nimoy Should Eat More Salsa Foundation. It really is thought provoking and in every way stimulating. Why aren’t there more good causes like this to donate to?!

I’m convinced that the reason there are so few good movies out today is because good is simple. If you want to make something difficult or complex, unrighteousness will work in a pinch. Adam and Eve in the Garden – a simple and beautiful scene; but as soon as they sin, murder, jealousy and spite... Read More

I have officially become a barn lover. I cannot drive by one without scrambling around the car for my camera. Its a curse I admit it. But I found these two beauties on the back roads of Red Hook, NY. Not 200 feet from the teal barn is another dilapidated barn the color of espresso... Read More

I decided to climb up into a tree fort to compose this blog. There was an old inflatable figurine with wide, lifeless eyes – sans air – lying in the corner of the fort, so I picked it up to toss it down into the yard. Beneath it, water had collected and more than fifty... Read More

Two Months and Fresh Cut Grass
I walked outside through a damp, close night with the smell of vegetation strong and alive in my lungs. There were no stars, only wet darkness straight up, and the peepers and crickets were playing our song. “Can I stay? Would it be a sin?” I really couldn’t help falling in love with her. It... http://www.christianitytoday.com/music/artists/starfield.html If you like MercyMe or Chris Tomlin, you’ll find alot to love with Starfield. While some of the musical approaches are a bit too “tried-and-true”, you’ll still find yourself popping in the CD and singing along on a long drive. Lots of layered guitars give a very processed sound which appeals greatly to some... Read More

You know I was never a big fan of rap until I moved to Jersey. Now I think I understand it a little better… it’s like poetry set to rhythm. However, the content is usually equivalent to fecal matter – it reeks of pride, victimization, materialism, promiscuity and violence all flying under the banner of... Read More

I rushed into my house one evening (running late of course) to get packed for our camping trip, and caught myself breathless at the sight of this bouquet. The evening sun sent such an intense light that set these roses ablaze. This has to be one of my favorite shots.

This amazingly rich barn sits beside Route 9 in Livingston, NY. As far as I know, it’s not in use, but it sure does add to the atmosphere of the Hudson Valley. I touched it up a bit (the bottom left door and the windows have different effects than the siding). The velvety mocha siding... Read More

Well, I’ve never been a sucker for sentimentality, but when my little nephew Gabriel came along, things changed drastically. I’ve posted some of the photos of his very first camping trip. Gosh. Every time I look at him I think he’s the cutest thing on earth… Sad part about it all is that in a... Read More

Nick Berg: A Case Study In Fundamentalism
Came across a blog post concerning the Nick Berg beheading video (link no longer works) and snatched this little “gem” of a quote from it. QUOTE: “Fanatic fundamentalism in any form is bad, mmm’kayyy?” My response: “So you’re saying that nothing on this earth is worth dying for. Our soldiers are fanatic fundamentalists… fighting for... Found this old railroad bridge tucked away in the woods of lower Chatham. I don’t think it’s in service anymore, but it does carry with it quite a bit of character. I did a lomo effect ex post facto, which I think really works with the composition of the shot. S2400102 Originally uploaded by PlasticMind.

Took this picture overlooking Port Jervis just after coming out of PA from K’s wedding. This is actually faked… I had a pic of Jess and a pic of me in these poses, and I put them bot together on this shot. Both mother’s said we looked like warrior and that we should have theme... Read More
