Learning Movable Type 17 April 2007
When you want real birch beer, you get Pennsylvania Dutch. When you want programming help, you read O'Reilly books. When you want to learn Movable Type, you visit Learning Movable Type. There's no site quite as comprehensive or cohesive, and anyone working with Movable Type, novice or professional, finds themselves visiting the site often. (Myself included.)
So it was with great enthusiasm that I took on the task of refocusing Learning Movable Type. The site needed to be clean and simple so as not to distract from the content. Our first order of business was creating a logo that would help convey the simplicity and beauty of our approach to Movable Type. Movable Type can be intimidating, so we wanted a soft, irenic site to further reinforce the idea that "we can help you figure things out!"
Key features include: multi-author posting, with automated author profiles courtesy Arvind's CustomFields; custom Google co-op search integrated to the site; highly flexible design that played nicely with various input formats.
