Computer Vision's new site is a powerful demonstration of Movable Type's power and versatility. After setting up ActivePerl, MySQL and PHP on Computer Vision's IIS server and creating a complete redesign of the original site with CSS, we customized three seperate MT sites that were then bound together using David Rayne's Multiblog plugin--the site structure, the class listings and monthly specials. We provided custom fields in the MT screen and modified the power-editing screen so that updating monthly class specials was as easy as logging in, entering the data and pressing save. No HTML coding, just data. MT handled all the rest. We even went so far as to integrate Movable Type with the registration form (allowing customers to choose from a live list of classes when registering) and the sales team mailing (creating a live list of class specials which could then be emailed to clients).
